STERLING FAMILY REFERENCE

Sterling LC Series Car Hauler

LC is both a factory-recognized Sterling model identity and an L-Line-derived special-application architecture. Its low carrier packaging should not be reduced to a generic L9500 body style.

YEARS & TECHNICAL ERAS

Follow the dated evidence

Corporate production dates, model years and individual factory-code availability are not interchangeable.

VERIFIED

Regulatory car-hauler population

A DTNA/NHTSA notice documents Sterling L-Line car-hauler bodies/chassis and a specific MBE4000 application across a dated manufacturing population.

CORROBORATED

LC identity persists

A VIN-based MY2009 Sterling LC auto-carrier record extends existence beyond the recall population. It does not establish the exact first year or a complete production range.

Factory identity and L-Line derivation

The revised Sterling VIN model table recognizes LC Class 7, Class 8 and glider identities. That factory identity coexists with the platform's L-Line relationship.

Carrier packaging

Car-hauler work changes cab/chassis/body packaging and makes generic L-Line geometry unsafe as an LC precision reference. Use carrier-specific measurements and the individual build.

What the recall proves

The recall establishes affected model years, manufacture dates and a specific engine-related population. A recall range is not automatically the complete LC production range.

OWNER / BUYER CHECK

Identify the individual truck

  1. Verify the VIN model identity as LC rather than relying on body appearance.
  2. Record carrier body manufacturer and installed configuration separately.
  3. Confirm engine and fuel-system applicability from the individual vehicle.
  4. Do not use generic L9500 dimensions as LC carrier geometry.
A–H DIMENSION GUIDEAMBER

Precision graphic intentionally withheld

Sourced BBC or wheelbase figures may be useful, but they do not complete an A–H reference. No missing width, height, overhang, frame or fifth-wheel geometry is inferred from artwork or an adjacent Sterling family.
